Serianna Covers Eminem's "Lose Yourself"

Our boys from Janesville, WI have just released a cover of the infamous "Lose Yourself" by the one and only Eminem. We think their version is a pretty kick ass revision of the song. They follow much of the songs lyrics and rhythms but definitely make it their own. All part of the ingredients of making a kick ass cover.  Let us know what you think!

Serianna Release New Video for "Virtues"

Janesville, WI natives Serianna are excited to release their brand new music video for "Virtues" of their debut album "Inheritors", released this past summer on Bullet Tooth. The video was filmed and directed by Sam Link (Sleeping With Sirens, Decoder) on the recent Motel 6 "Rock Yourself To Sleep" Tour with Alesana, A Skylit Drive, Sleeping With Sirens, Memphis May Fire and Attila. The video can be seen now on YouTube.

Singer Chris Nutting commented on the video, "We had a great time working with Sam Link on this live video, and what better tour to shoot it on than the Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour. Sam Link was such a cool guy to meet and hangout with. It's so hard to believe he's only 18 and can create such awesome videos. It's like he's some kind of film guru.
We came out of this tour with a lot more friends, fans, and knowledge on how to tour smartly. Being such a new band on a huge tour like that one was truly an eye opener on what we want to accomplish as a band. We want earn our place to be able to do more tours like that one and play to as many kids as we possibly can."

The debut album "Inheritors" from Serianna (Madison, WI) is available everywhere NOW! Fans can listen to the songs "Fragments" and "Guilty Spark" at their Facebook page, and watch a full length video promo of the title track "Inheritors" at YouTube. Their songs "Fragments" and "Inheritors" are also available NOW on Rock Band for Xbox 360.

Serianna Releases "Inheritors" July 26th

About 9 months ago, I came across a local metal band from Madison, WI that really intrigued me named Serianna. At the time, they were unsigned and playing every show they could to get the word out about their music, just like thousands of other bands. But that’s the extent of similarities between them and the rest of the thousands of bands out there. The band blew me away with their absolutely pure metal sound that can’t be compared to anyone out there today.

The hometown boys finally got the recognition they deserved back in March when Bullet Tooth Records became the lucky label to land this promising group. Clearly this was exciting for them as a band, but I’ll admit I was a little selfish. I wanted a full-length record and with a record label signing, always means a full-length album coming soon! And that’s just what we got from Serianna and Bullet Tooth Records with Inheritors.

Christmas morning came a little early for me this year when their new album showed up in my inbox. Anyone who has followed Serianna, knows the song “Fragments.” The concoction of kick ass metal was fittingly shined up and put on display as the first song on the album. It really portrays the band and what they’re all about. Hellish paced beats that demonstrate themselves gracefully with incredibly clean guitar work and drums scorching throughout as the heartbeat of the music.

Perhaps one of my favorite songs on the album is the instrumental journey that is “Colors.” The song starts out with quiet guitars and almost shy drums and then awakens with monstrous guitar work that brings the drums along for the ride. The song quickly develops itself back to the Serianna trademark hardcore metal but continues to fade in and out back to the quiet quite and drum play. The song shows how eclectic the band can be, but still keep a hold of their metal edge.

The album thankfully never hits a creative doldrum (like most albums on the market) with tons of filler. It continues with intense riffs and furious vocals from the opening note to the final battle cry. This album would be impressive for any band at any part of their career, but for a one that is merely still in the molding process under the record label, this record is absolutely sensational. All killer, no filler!

Serianna Signs with Bullet Tooth Records

Back in November of last year, we came across quite an intriguing local metalcore band.  Their music was hardcore yet melodic and had just enough kick ass to keep the metal fans happy and still not scare away those who oppose the "screamo" movement. Just listening to their music made you realize that they just had "it," whatever the proverbial "it" is.

We were lucky enough to interview the Janesville, WI based band to share their story and spread their infectious music.  At the time of the interview, we kept thinking that there are a very select few bands around the area that seem to be heading in the right direction to achieve every local bands goal, getting signed.  This morning Serianna proudly announced that they had signed with Bullet Tooth Records.
"We are excited about working with Josh and Bullet Tooth records because of the history that Josh has had with helping bands be successful. Since Josh used to own Trustkill records, his track record for establishing bands cannot go unnoticed. We're excited for Bullet Tooth to help us with our next step in our music career and get our music out to as many people as possible! Its funny for us to think that four years ago we were playing Bullet For My Valentine covers, only to be signed by the same guy responsible for discovering them," guitarist James Milbrandt said.
After years of playing music and sharing a passion for metal, the boys of Serianna finally were able to achieve a goal that many bands only dream of. But they admit that the hard work has just begun. Serianna has a new album in the works that will be released under Bullet Tooth titled "Inheritors."
"It feels like a relief to finally get to that point. We know now that it's just the beginning of the hard work to come. It will be nice to have our music reach all new areas of fans with the support of the label. I'm excited to see what this summer/year brings us. I am really excited to get this cd out! I would release it now if I could. I would say early part of summer we'll be shooting for, so next couple months. We've been sitting on these songs and cd for awhile now and its time for everyone to hear it!" bassist Lee Milbrandt said.
CONGRATULATIONS to Serianna from HRR and the best of luck in the upcoming future!

      Featured Artist | Serianna

Living in the Midwest, I have been constantly over-saturated with metal bands and their endless efforts to make it big. They'll scream at you until they lose their voices, and then ask their band members to yell some more.  They'd do just about anything to get your attention, including selling their souls to a not-so flattering stranger with horns protruding out of his thick skull.

Not very often do we come across a local band that just seems to get it.  And not too often do we come across a band that has IT.  So when I came across a band named Serianna, it was music to my ears...in more ways than one.  Their music is extremely refreshing to those metalheads, myself included, who are begging and pleading on hand and knee for good, pure metal.  None of this gift wrapped, prepackaged corporate shit that is shoved into our eardrums by the suits and ties sitting in their penthouse mansions.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Serianna.
