Soulicit Live Acoustic Review  Soulicit. Remember the name, because you'll be hearing a lot of them around the nation in the next few years. The boys from Wichita, KS showed up to Reverend Jim's in Madison, WI with almost every single person wondering who the hell they were. And they left with everyone there carrying their merch and singing their songs. Read More...

Imagine being able to concoct a musical Frankenstein out of some of the best hard rock and metal bands out there today. Take your pick of the strongest appendages off of the most maniacal and well-known bands from the past decade and stitching them together with a strong, fibrous, passion for kick ass rock n' roll. Read More...

Wednesday 13's "Calling All Corpses" Review  Blood, guts, horror movies and zombie sluts. Lathed with tongue-in-cheek lyrics straight out of EdgarWright's Shaun of the Dead, Wednesday 13's 'Calling All Corpses' is just plain fucking fun.  I'm going to just go ahead and see it; this is the funnest album of the year. With tracks titled like "Ghoul of My Dreams," "One Knife Stand," and "Bad at Being Human," one can only imagine the creativeness Wednesday 13 (Murderdolls, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, Bourbon Crow) put into his latest solo album filled with twisted puns and evil chuckles.Read More...

Red Hot Chili Peppers' "I'm With You" Review  As their new record "I'm With You" opens, the stuttering and stammering of off-beat drums and screeches of an out-of-tune guitar cram themselves into your ear drums. Lead Vocalist Anothony Kiedis shudders and moans proclamations of blood running through and dreams of eternal life. The Red Hot Chili Peppers know how to send a message. The self-symbolism molds a picture of their rock n' roll empire falling to shambles, when out of nowhere, the Chili Peppers are back. Read More...

Razer "Dark Devotion" Review  I won't beat around the bush on this one. I won't delve my writing into thought-provoking connotations that gracefully paint a picture of the album for you. Just as Razer's newest album "Dark Devotion" won't fuck around, neither will I; this album kicks ass harder than Chuck Norris. Chris Powers, Jeremy Graves, Paul Sullivan and Eric Bongiorno are a rare group of musicians who have concocted a dying breed of rock n' roll that music fans thirst for. Read More...

Clint Lowery's "Uncomfortable Silence" Review Sometimes solo artist Clint Lowery has released a new ensemble of acoustic songs! The four tracks, recorded at Clint's home, mixed by his brother, Corey Lowery, can only be purchased on iTunes. Uncomfortable Silence, Clint's latest offering, follows on the heels of the highly praised "Words That Sing Well" (4/2011) and "Chills" (10/2008) EPs that have sold amazingly well as far as solo/indie projects are concerned.Read More...

Signum A.D. "The Unsilenced" It's extremely uncommon for a new band to have the backing of big players within the music industry on their first album, let alone the fact of having those big players put their own hard work into something basically unproven. Signum A.D. is one of the very lucky few who have had this fortune and clearly there was good reason for Brett Hestla (producer;Framing Hanley, Dark New Day), Kato Khandwala (mixed; Breaking Benjamin) and Tom Baker (mastered; Sevendust, 10 Years) to commit their time to Signum A.D.'s first album, The UnsilencedRead More...

Ill Nino "Dead New World" Monday, December 20th, 2010 | The year 2010 has been filled with a lot of high quality albums and new music in the hard rock and metal scene. This was expected from the likes of Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones but possibly one of the most delightful surprises is the latest release Dead New World by Ill Nino. Whether you coin the band nu metal or Latin metal, to each his own, I call it purely unique ass kicking metal. Read More...

New Medicine "Race You to the Bottom" Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 | A walk down memory lane with Tommy Petty on one arm and Bad Religion on the other, New Medicine’s “Race You To The Bottom” saunters through and is on the way to the Top. At times, the music stops, but the singing keeps going…which is catchy. I don’t like “catchy.” I’m a hard rock & heavy metal fan. This album has put the boot down my own idea of what I do and don’t like Read More...

Murderdolls "Women and Children Last" Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010 | Imagine yourself stuck in the middle of a fiery hell on earth. The zombie apocalypse is upon us and the world has lost all its order. Your friends and family are no where to be found, so you can only assume they’re one of the infected thousands that are chasing you, trying to make you into their next delectable treat. There is no way out. There is no hope. And you love every minute of it. This, in a rotten nutshell, is exactly the type of twisted, guilty pleasure that Murderdolls brings to you in their latest release Women and Children LastRead More...

Pantera "Official Live Pantera - 101 Proof" Thursday, December 9th, 2010 | So yesterday I was standing in a local music shop systematically sifting through each and every metal album they had in their bins when I came across something that was so perfectly fitting.  On the six year anniversary of the death of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, I found the "Official Live Pantera."  Never having the pleasure and extreme honor of being able to see Pantera and Dimebag play live, I had to check out at least some of their live stuff. Read More...

Nonpoint "Miracle" Review Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 | It seems like every time someone talks about any rock n’ roll artist or band these days, there is an underlying and ridiculous urge to place them in some generalized category.  For the boys of Nonpoint it’s never been about fitting into some cliché music genre or writing records to make the charts, it’s simply been about one thing and one thing only; writing genuine, pure Nonpoint music. Read More...

Slipknot "(sic)nesses Live at Download 2009" Review Wednesday November 3rd, 2010 | The greatest metal band of the 21st century is at it once again with their latest concert DVD release (sic)nesses Live at Download. Available since late September, this work of art is enthralling, brilliant and surreal. Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan exemplifies the DVD in one simple line; “It’s an extreme gift to be able to give the world your pain.” Read More...

Get ready to have your ears melted from the inside out, all the while trying to wipe that hellish smile off your faces. Ozzy Osbourne "Scream" Review Wednesday November 3rd, 2010 | After 40 years of screaming his black heart out, most would think Ozzy’s vocal transmissions would have faded, but The Prince of Darkness has managed to keep his trademark sound alive and well in his 10th album, Scream. Read More...

Hellyeah "Stampede" Review Wednesday November 3rd, 2010 | Supergroup Hellyeah is back with sophomore album Stampede and their patented main course of southern rock with a gritty side of ass kicking that fans are used to from lead man Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett’s main poison, Mudvayne. Rounding out your four course meal of metal is Vinnie Paul of Pantera, Tom Maxwell of Nothingface andBob Zilla of Damageplan, leaving any metal fan asking for seconds. Read More...
