Serianna Releases "Inheritors" July 26th

About 9 months ago, I came across a local metal band from Madison, WI that really intrigued me named Serianna. At the time, they were unsigned and playing every show they could to get the word out about their music, just like thousands of other bands. But that’s the extent of similarities between them and the rest of the thousands of bands out there. The band blew me away with their absolutely pure metal sound that can’t be compared to anyone out there today.

The hometown boys finally got the recognition they deserved back in March when Bullet Tooth Records became the lucky label to land this promising group. Clearly this was exciting for them as a band, but I’ll admit I was a little selfish. I wanted a full-length record and with a record label signing, always means a full-length album coming soon! And that’s just what we got from Serianna and Bullet Tooth Records with Inheritors.

Christmas morning came a little early for me this year when their new album showed up in my inbox. Anyone who has followed Serianna, knows the song “Fragments.” The concoction of kick ass metal was fittingly shined up and put on display as the first song on the album. It really portrays the band and what they’re all about. Hellish paced beats that demonstrate themselves gracefully with incredibly clean guitar work and drums scorching throughout as the heartbeat of the music.

Perhaps one of my favorite songs on the album is the instrumental journey that is “Colors.” The song starts out with quiet guitars and almost shy drums and then awakens with monstrous guitar work that brings the drums along for the ride. The song quickly develops itself back to the Serianna trademark hardcore metal but continues to fade in and out back to the quiet quite and drum play. The song shows how eclectic the band can be, but still keep a hold of their metal edge.

The album thankfully never hits a creative doldrum (like most albums on the market) with tons of filler. It continues with intense riffs and furious vocals from the opening note to the final battle cry. This album would be impressive for any band at any part of their career, but for a one that is merely still in the molding process under the record label, this record is absolutely sensational. All killer, no filler!
